Starting a Paranormal Investigation Group

You’ve seen paranormal investigation groups on television, and maybe you’ve been exposed to groups in real life as well. Now, you’re ready to start a paranormal investigation group of your own.

What makes a good paranormal investigation team member?

Your first step is going to be to put together a team of paranormal investigators that are both knowledgeable and reliable enough to work with you on your investigations, as well as professional enough to work in public areas around sometimes quite expensive equipment.

The best group will include people with varying backgrounds and skills, as well as a willingness to both learn from other group members, and to teach.

You yourself may want to be the group’s leader, however, it’s not a bad idea to break the leadership role into other roles as well, and add those members to the team too, such as scheduler, and depending on the nature of your group, someone who knows how to handle media, marketing and press.

You’ll want a couple of team members that know their way around electronics, and all the latest paranormal techie gear, that are able to teach other members how to use equipment.

There’s nothing wrong with a large group, because you’ll find that some members are more permanent than others, and others won’t always be available, so leave a little wiggle room, and overbook events while you all get to know each other and build loyalty and longevity.

Where to Look for Paranormal Investigation Team Members

Craigslist can be a great resource for people looking to meet up with other people for any reason. This remains true for paranormal investigation teams. If you’re looking for people with an avid interest in the paranormal, put an advertisement on advertisement on Craigslist, have people tell you what experience they have, and what they can bring to the team.

Get your Paranormal Group Meeting together with the help of the local paper.

Another great place to advertise is the community events section of your local paper. Advertise that you’re starting a ghost hunting team, and looking for new members, offer a solid date and location for the initial ghost hunting meeting.

Advertise your ghost hunting team introduction meeting free on the radio!

If your club is not for profit, most radio stations will even publicize your first meeting for you for free. Contact local radio stations and ask them if you can advertise a non-profit event.

Other fun forms of advertisement involve word of mouth, and neat things like T-Shirts, pens, magnets, pins, and flyers.

Tell everyone you meet, and wear a fun tee-shirt for your team if possible, this is a great conversational tool.

Flyers can be hung in local grocery stores, bars, and anyplace that people gather, you can even hang them on telephone poles and send them to public service radio stations.

“Ghost Light” Portland Oregon

Paranormal fact or faked ‘ Ghost LIGHT” In Portland, Oregon a young couple in August 15, 2010 were walking along the Willamette River at around 11 pm on the east side of the river. Duncan Schoeuman and his girlfriend Vee. The crew conducted three experiments. The first was a lighted Frisbee that just sank; failure number 1. The next experiment was attaching a helium filled balloon tied to a boat putting led lights to it but this showed the transparency of the balloon revealing the lights and no consistent flight path. The next experiment they used a remote controlled plane and added led lights to the plane. The problem here then is the shape and the brightness were not close to the original video. In the video captured by Duncan it appeared to be round a orb if you will and since the crew used Duncan’s camera there was not an exact match. Duncan’s video footage was some what unfocused and some what grainy but the object was very visible of a whitest blue to a pink reddish color. But the crew of Paranormal fact or faked dismissed it but what they also failed to acknowledge was the height increase and the duration of the flight as well the smoothness and where the object did go . The cameras original video and the recreation done by the crew were vastly inconsistent and inconclusive. Sorry for any inappropriate language

After the first UFO footage that was so kindly dismissed by those Paranormal fact or faked crew there was another video taken by Duncun it would appear that five days or so later they shoot the following footage and to my opinion is compelling;

The Paranormal Respect to Angels, spirits and Demons in the Bible.

I have watched and examined countless hours of varies shows and all have a common threads in them. One of them is the lack of mention of the LORD Jesus or GOD in general except for one in a recent episode of Ghost Adventures. No other show has demonstrated or put forth this great name. The other is the vast disrespect towards spirits especially when it comes to demonic powers. All of them especially Ghost Adventures have a arrogant attitude as to say that these entities can not hurt them but we have seen scratches on some paranormal investigators. If any one of these people ever really encountered a real demon they would turn white as a sheet and their hair would turn white. These men do not have the power of the Holy Ghost and they do not use the real name of the LORD to cast out , bind up or rebuke a demonic spirit ones physical attributes are not going to scare no spirit because they are not on the physical plane but can manifest themselves as such as well as Angels can like wise do the same. Now here is one example of how dangerous it is to play with the power of the supernatural. The Bible has points to a few encounters with demonic possion and how those who are not truly plugged in will happen kinda like the movie “The Last Exorcism” or even the “Rite” both contained superficial even fake but in time one will run into the real just like the sons of Scivia Act 19:11 And God wrought special miracles by the hands of Paul:
Act 19:12 So that from his body were brought to the sick, handkerchiefs, or aprons, and the diseases departed from them, and the evil spirits went out of them.
Act 19:13 Then certain of the vagabond Jews, exorcists, took upon them to call over them who had evil spirits, the name of the Lord Jesus, saying, We adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preacheth.
Act 19:14 And there were seven sons of one Sceva a Jew, and chief of the priests, who did so.
Act 19:15 And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye?
Act 19:16 And the man in whom the evil spirit was, leaped on them, and overcame them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded.

See casting out devils is a Christians duty and or rite to exercise as is healing by the laying on of hands. It is sad most Christians deny this even exist and in like manner most of the paranormal television shows also teat the spirit world with showmanship and enjoy using GOD name as a curse word or expression without reverence.
Act 8:6 And the people with one accord gave heed to those things which Philip spoke, hearing and seeing the miracles which he performed.
Act 8:7 For unclean spirits, crying with loud voice, came out of many that were possessed: and many taken with palsies, and that were lame, were healed. Now there are those who use physics or even at some point have even used a witch to seek out a ghost or entity with in a given situation. Act 8:9 But there was a certain man called Simon, who before in the same city used sorcery, and bewitched the people of Samaria, giving out that himself was some great one:
Act 8:17 Then they laid their hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit.
Act 8:18 And when Simon saw that through laying on of the apostles’ hands the Holy Spirit was given, he offered them money,
Act 8:19 Saying, Give me also this power, that on whomsoever I lay hands, he may receive the Holy Spirit.
Act 8:20 But Peter said to him, Thy money perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money.
Act 8:21 Thou hast neither part nor lot in this matter: for thy heart is not right in the sight of God.
Act 8:22 Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the thought of thy heart may be forgiven thee.
Act 8:23 For I perceive that thou art in the gall of bitterness, and in the bond of iniquity.

If any one has watched these shows of paranormal investigations there is a mocking spirit and disrespect to demonic or angelic host and do you know why it is because they are coming natural instincs and not from the spirit Jud 1:8 Likewise also these filthy dreamers defile the flesh, despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities.
Jud 1:9 Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee. If the Angels who know who Lucifer is and fight daily with real demons.
So I would be interested to know what these shows are not showing? What the shows have been told to edit and to toss in the trash so no one ever sees? I am convinced that Ghost Hunters and others for the purpose of money have tossed some real evidence of hauntings and encounters with spirits.
If one is going to investigate hauntings or possible possessions we need to respect and honor the potions which they hold and under stand they can hurt, mame or even kill a human person and in like manner others can help, assist and encourage so respect the spirits for they are not dead they are as alive as we are just without a physicaL body but they have the abity to talk of engage you during a investigation.

Adair Village – POW Hospital in Oregon

Camp Adair Camp Adair, a 57,000 acre site,  was constructed in 1942 and 1943 during World War II as an Army training center and hospital,The camp, or what’s left of it is located just North of Corvallis Oregon. Intriguing story, paranormal activity at an Oregon based POW camp? The camp contained temporary living quarters for 2,133 military officers, as well as more than 37k enlisted personnel.

What remains of Camp Adair is now owned and managed by the Oregon State Fish and Wildlife Department.

This 57,000-acre site was built during 1942–1943 as a World War II Army division training camp, and had temporary quarters for 2,133 officers, and 37,081 enlisted personnel. It was also a POW camp. It is now owned by Oregon State Fish and Wildlife.

I’ve been reading reports from paranormal teams in Oregon most of the week. Many say there’s activity, a few didn’t find much. GhostsandCritters.com recorded some interesting sound bits.

Oregon’s Camp Adair  – Named in Honor of Henry Rodney Adair

L Henry Adair

Henry Rodney Adair

In all, there were Four infantry divisions trained at Camp Adair specifically for overseas duty. The divisions were the 91st Powder River Infantry Division, the 96th Deadeye Infantry Division, the 104th Timberwolf Infantry Division, and the 70th Trailblazer Infantry Division.

The camp was originally named to honor Henry Rodney Adair of Astoria, the first Oregonian killed during the 1916 Mexican border clashes. Adair was killed in battle during the  Pancho Villa Expedition at the Battle of Carrizal on June 21, 1916

Both Italians and Germans were held in the POW hospital at Camp Adair

After the divisions trained by the Army left, the POW hospital was became the US Navy’s concern. According to reports, by 1945 the hospital had been remodeled and could house 3,600 patients.

The U.S. Army turned it’s hospital over to the U.S. Navy when the divisions left. Casualties from the Pacific Theater were brought to Camp Adair for treatment and recuperation. On March 1, 1945, it was reported that the wounded were arriving by train, and the hospital had been enlarged to take care of 3,600.

The hospital at Camp Adair first cared for injured Italian Prisoners of war, and then for Germans. The hospital was used in the care of POWs from August of 1944 through April of 1946.

Camp Adair Barracks

The Barracks at Camp Addair

Is it possible that Camp Adair is still haunted by POWs from World War II? Its been said that bootsteps can still be heard even though there are no soldiers present. There have also been reports of creaking bed-springs, even though the beds were all removed decades ago.

There are a few other things to take into consideration here as well. How about the smokestack, still standing more than 100 feet tall, where it’s rumored the POW hospital burned the dead, before shipping their remains back to their home country.

400 Bodies Disturbed to Construct Camp Adair

For Camp Adair to be constructed, many families had to give up their homes. The government rerouted railroad tracks and roads, relocated cemeteries, and wiped out the small community of Wells, Oregon.

According to reports,  several people displaced to build the camp  many families gave up their homes, in fact the entire town of Wells Oregon was destroyed.  Many of these evacuee’s were farmers, and most of them were direct decendants of pioneers to America. Railroads were rerouted, roads moved and cemetaries relocated. As one might assume, several gravesites were displaced as well. Including  the graves of many pioneers who might have thought they had every right to rest in peace where they lay. According to the Oregon Dept. of Fish and Wildlife, more than 400 bodies were moved to an area South of Monmouth to erect Camp Adair. . .

Ghost or Spirts Do not Need Energy.

I have watched many hours of shows on the paranormal and one common theme is “ghost need energy”. That is incorrect ghost or spirits are they themselves consist of energy; you have a spirit and that spirt is what moves us it is the breath of life to our human bodies. Now since it is energy that is supernatural like the LORD it does not end or run down unlike a battery. It is a insult to assume that ghost need the trickle amonts of energy a camcorder or camera battery has; there is massive amonts of electricty floating in the air. So why do batteries drain? It is because the presence of the ghost or spirit is powerful enough to drain electrical equipment and even at times can drain you or me. Any thing the person didn alive can be done as a ghost and even more so if the LORD Yeshua choses like him a physical resurection and angels and demons both can manifest as humans and can stop cars or throw things; so a spirit or ghost can do harm and do good.

Is the Damascus Pioneer Cemetary Haunted?

Damascus Pioneer Cemetary

Damascus Pioneer Cemetary

Something about the idea of a Pioneer Cemetary just intrigues me. It stands to reason that every cemetary in the world has the possibility of paranormal activity right? Who knows for sure why some spirits seem to remain here among us, and why some tend to move onto heaven, hell, or somewhere in between. Without that knowledge, we really don’t know whether a spirit is more likely to hang out where they lived, they where they died, or where they were finally laid to rest. Perhaps there are spirits dwelling in cemetaries to be near the remains of loved ones, and they aren’t personally associated with the cemetary they’re ‘haunting’ at all.

One things for sure though, I aim to investigate as soon as possible. I love the story behind a spirtual presence, and old pioneer cemetaries are just chalk full of history, culture, stories and bodies that faced a hard time in our history, hardships, tragedies, and really, well they lived the hell out of life.

I read online that there’s been paranormal activity in Damascus Oregon at the Damascus Pioneer Cemetary, in fact, there are stories of mysterious battery drainage, interesting EVP’s and lots of yummahlicious orbs, in additition to those treats, there are reports of ‘extra people’ in photographs, and shadows, wether there is cause for them or not.

The cemetary has been around since at least 1855.

If you’ve investigated this area before, and have any prior knowledge, or would like to see anything in particular when we visit (likely next week), shoot James an email at Steel2385 @ hotmail . com.

In the meantime, I leave you with some youtube videos of Paranormal investigations done by other teams at the Damascus Cemetary :D .

Bury Me and My Sister in Law as Far Away from My Wife as Possible

Remember the Helms family from Jacksonville Oregon? We recently looked into the possibility of paranormal activity there that involved the spirits of Herman Helms wife August and his baby daughter Minnie, who died of small pox.

While I researched the Helms in Jacksonville, I was continuously brought back to two sisters that lived together in Portland, Oregon. Anna and Emma Helms together ran a boarding house that was located on 6th and S.W. Washington. According to stories that I’ve only thus far found online, Fred Martin, Emma Helms Martin’s estranged husband Fred shot his wife and killed her.

Next he aimed the gun at his sister in law, Anna, and he ‘mortally wounded’ her. Most of the stories I’ve found so far are copies of the first, so there’s not a lot of information as to what “Mortally Wounded” meant. I imagine that he shot her, and she did die, just not immediately.. I’ll be looking into newspaper archives for more information.

So Anna’s dead, Emma’s mortally wounded, and now… Fred Martin shoots himself in the mouth. In his suicide note, Fred asked that he and his sister in law be buried together, as far away from his wife as possible.

I’m currently on the search for any solid info about this case. Burial sites, newspaper clippings, a copy of that suicide note? This is a fascinating story in and of itself, and what’s more, is these Helms women seem to stick to this earth.

The story is that these two women, or their spirits at least, still dwell in the building located at 655 SW Washington Street in Downtown Portland Oregon. Visitors to the location have also described a ‘cloud of emotion’ that continues to dwell over the building.

Helms Home, Perhaps the Most Haunted in Jacksonville

The Helms House, Said to be haunted by August and Herminne Helms

Herman Helms House in Jacksonville Oregon

One of the most interesting pieces of paranormal history in Oregon involves the Helms family. A family who in life saw tragedy, murder, and suicide, and in death, some say continue to haunt the homes they once dwelt within.

The first of the Helmes Haunts, located in Jacksonville Oregon is an old wood framed home that was originally constructed in Jacksonville back in 1862, the same year that tobacco was first taxed federally and Joseph Etienne Lenoir invented the first ever automobile.

In the basement of the home is the tombstone of a child that once lived there.  The child, Herminne Helms, known to her family and those that loved her as Minnie, died of smallpox in 1868, before she was even two years old. Initially, the baby was buried in a grave located in the front of the home, which at that time was just a modest wooden cabin.

After the Helms made their money in the gold rush, with their saloon, and bakery, the cabin was remodeled into the mansion that stands today, as a result, the child’s grave was built over, and her tombstone moved into the families basement.

Little Minnie wasn’t regaled to the basement however, she was later reinterred in the cemetery with an
ornate tombstone in the same cemetery her parents are buried in. The old gravestone was put under the home, in the basement area, where it’s since been shown to visitors.

Does the Spirit of Mrs.  August Englebrecht Helms Remain in the Helms House in Jacksonville?

It’s said that there are two spirits that still dwell within the home, the first, the Lady of the House, August Englebrecht Helms, wife of Herman Helms who was once a baker, and a saloon keeper in what was then called Table Rock, and is now known as Jacksonville Oregon.

Some say the Jacksonville house. located at 320 S Oregon Street, Jacksonville OR, is the most haunted paranormal site in the entire state. From the outside though, nothing at all looks amiss, in fact, visitors to the neighborhood are treated to a beautifully restored old fashioned house, done in a bright and inviting yellow..

Jacksonville Cemetary - Historical

Jacksonville Historic Cemetery

Witnesses say that the elderly spirit roams the halls crying over the families many sorrows, and likely the loss of her young child. The other spirit, The other paranormal spirit said to remain at the residence is that of a young girl that sits at the bottom of the stairs and also cries.

Nearly a century after baby Minnie’s passing in 1982, Bill Cottrell, who spent some time house-sitting at the Helms home 10 years before (around 1972) reported to the Mail Tribune that he had been awoken from sleep during his stay at the house by a female sobbing. Cottrell said the sobs came from the entry way. Even Cottrells dog noticed the presence, as he whined and hid underneath of a bed.

Cottrell reported searching the Helms house, and finding nothing.

The mother is said to be in mourning, for her daughter and the other trials and tribulations that her family have faced, such as murder, a small pox epidemic, and suicide hence the reason for her sobs. In fact, these tragedies took the lives of more than a dozen members of the Helms family during the ladder part of the 1800′s. Two more of the Helms daughters died tragic deaths later in Portland, Oregon, Emma and and again, it’s said that their spirits remain, haunting the people of Portland where the Ella Rooming house once stood.

As for the Helms House in Jacksonville Oregon, the house isn’t currently available for investigations or tours, and I wasn’t able to find a single photograph of Minnie’s grave stone from the basement. The house is reportedly lived in as a private residence. Both Mr and Mrs Herman and August Englebright Helms were buried in the Historic Jacksonville Cemetery which can be visited daily up until one hour before dusk.

We believe in Paranormal Activity, but do we believe in Vampires?

The Helms Home isn’t the only place in Jacksonville that’s said to be haunted however, The Wolf Creek Inn might just be hiding a paranormal anomaly or two itself. According to the county website, The owner, Inn’s employee’s, and even the guests have reported seeing an apparition of a vampire like creature. The apparition reportedly has blood dripping from his mouth, and a bit harder to fathom,  two guests were reportedly bitten in the neck while sleeping there.
